Rum Bum Technology has produced live web streams for various events, including large music festivals, and action sports events. We provide the complete workflow, from encoding the video signal, uploading it from the location to our content delivery network (CDN), to providing dynamic-bandwidth video players for your web page.

Encoding

We use the latest technology – the Inlet Spinnaker HD-X 8100 to encode in the highest quality on location. Up to 8 streams in Flash, Silverlight, H.264, iPhone/iPad HTTP and in full 1080p HD.

Local Internet

Using the standard satellite uplink from the event location can increase the cost of live streaming. Whenever possible, we use local WiMAX connections, which greatly reduce cost and provide higher bandwidth. Available in up to 12Mbps, the equivalent of eight T1 lines, the bandwidth is a multitude of a dedicated satelite uplink.

CDN

We have partnered with Akamai to make use of their 48,000+ servers worldwide for the best online distribution possible. Our team sets up the streams, monitors traffic, and stream quality.

Video Players

We provide video players for both Flash and Silverlight for integration into existing websites. If your site does not have an existing page for live streaming, our team can build you one.

Our players automatically adjust to the best stream according to the available bandwidth, so no matter how your audience is reaching the stream page, the stream will be available in the best quality possible.
